Delta Air Lines Celebrates Team USA with Custom Aircraft Livery in Toulouse, France

In a significant showcase of support and partnership, Delta Air Lines introduced its custom Airbus A350 Team USA aircraft livery in Toulouse, France, marking a pivotal moment in its ongoing commitment as the official airline of Team USA. This event not only underscores Delta's support for the athletes but also its dedication to connecting them with their aspirations as they prepare for the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

A Symbol of Partnership and Pride

The unveiling ceremony took place in the presence of a special audience, including Delta’s Chairman’s Club honorees, a group of the airline’s top 100 employees selected annually for exemplifying the Delta brand. This year, the ceremony was held at Airbus’ global headquarters, where the A350 was built and painted. The aircraft sports a design that combines patriotic red, white, and blue colors with 'Team USA' prominently displayed, reflecting the spirit and resilience of the athletes and the airline’s staff alike.

Alicia Tillman, Delta’s Chief Marketing Officer, expressed her enthusiasm about the new livery. “This aircraft represents our commitment to Team USA and our partnership to elevate these athletes to reach their highest potential. As this plane travels around the world, it symbolizes the hard work, dedication, and upward momentum that both Team USA and Delta share.”

Design Details and Inspirations

The livery, crafted by designer Alessandra Rabellino and Delta’s internal brand design team, Window Seat, features elements from the previous Team USA Livery for the Beijing 2022 Games, while also introducing new aspects looking ahead to Paris and beyond. One of the standout features is the jet stream evolved into the shape of the Eiffel Tower, a nod to the countdown to the Paris Games.

Rabellino shared her excitement about the livery’s reveal, stating, “It’s thrilling to see the big reveal and to share this moment with the Chairman’s Club Honorees who have such a significant impact on our company. It’s a true honor to be part of this occasion.”

A Commemorative Flight

Following the unveiling, the Chairman’s Club honorees will have the distinction of being the first to fly the newly designed aircraft back to Atlanta on May 3, further celebrating the countdown to the Paris Games. This flight serves as a recognition of their unwavering commitment and dedication to the brand.

Symbol of Resilience and Perseverance

Gina Laughlin, Vice President of Global Communications at Delta, paralleled the traits of the Team USA athletes with Delta’s employees. “Both show resilience and perseverance. Celebrating this moment with our Chairman’s Club Honorees is fitting as both Delta’s people and Team USA strive daily to bring the best of themselves to their endeavors.”

This livery launch is more than just a new paint job; it’s a declaration of Delta’s ongoing support and enthusiasm for Team USA as they prepare to compete on the world stage, reflecting a shared journey of excellence and pride.
