A Lufthansa plane avoided the collision with a drone

The pilot of Lufthansa Airbus A380 airliner avoided a collision with a drone while flying near Los Angeles International Airport, just 61 meters above the aircraft, writes Reuters.

According to the information submitted by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), a drone passed away at just 61 meters above the Airbus A380 airliner operated by Lufthansa, which was descending at an altitude of 152 meters during its landing procedures on the Los Angeles international Airport, encloses Reuters.

US law prohibits the use of drones to a height greater than 122 meters and less than 8 kilometers from the airport without prior contacting the air traffic controllers. The Federal Aviation Administration received in the past two years 42 reports on drone overflying at an uncertain height nearby the Los Angeles International Airport, the second busiest airport in the United States. In the past two years, nearly 200 pilots only in California claimed close encounters with drones in the air, which could turn into tragedy. The FAA also imposed the registration on an online government platform of drones owned by individuals who are at least 13 years old.
