A Minion Land Will Be Opened Next Summer at Universal Orlando
Universal Orlando Resort will soon have a new Minions-themed park and matching ride.
Minion Land will be found on Florida's Illumination Ave. It will also include a new ride, Villain-Con Minion Blast. This park was announced with Travel + Leisure.
This family-friendly attraction is expected to deliver "loads and diabolic fun". It was created in partnership between Universal's creative team, Illumination, one the most prominent producers of event-animated movies, and Universal.
“This interactive, blaster game experience will invite guests to put their villainous skills to the test as they compete against each other in a bid to join the ranks of the franchise’s most infamous supervillains,” Universal shared with T+L in a press release.
Villain-Con is "the largest criminal convention on the planet," and guests will be competing to become The Vicious 6's newest supervillain characters in "Minions: The Rise of Gru."
It is a pioneering attraction that combines "innovative screen tech" with "state-of-the-art gaming interactivity. The elaborate physical sets promise "to create an one-of-a kind, game-based adventure in which guests encounter immersive environments and tons of mischievous minions from Illumination's movies in a new way."
Guests will use an interactive blaster to test their skills, earn points and cause as much destruction and mayhem as possible.
Riders will not be riding in traditional attractions vehicles. Instead, they will "wind and glide" through different scenes. They earn points by blasting various items and causing as much destruction and mayhem as possible.
This unique experience promises to be "mischief-filled and so much fun it's a crime!"
Minion Land will also include a Minion Cafe that will be its sister at Universal Studios Hollywood. "Other surprises inspired by famous characters from Illumination’s blockbuster franchises” will also be part of the land.
Despicable Me Minion Mayhem, fan-favorite attraction based on the most successful animated film franchise in cinematic history will be joining the new Minion land.
In the next month, Illumination will reveal more details about Illumination's Villain-Con Minion Blast as well as Minion Land, Universal shares.
This announcement is made at a time when the resort in central Florida has seen tremendous growth. Guests are eagerly awaiting Epic Universe, the new theme park.
