A Tropical Paradise Build in a Former German Shed

In an abandoned shed near Berlin there was built a tropical paradise. The recreation center has the largest spa resort in Europe, offering services and welcoming guest from all over the world. The former shed has an area of more than nine football fields and is as tall as the Statue of Liberty, according to Insider online newspaper.


The tropical paradise, owned by CargoLifter Company until 2002 when it became insolvent, is considered to be the largest spa building in the world.

Inside the former shed there are 13 bars and restaurants, tents, campsite and accommodations where visitors can stay overnight. One can visit the spa any time in the year, as there is a constant warm temperature of 26 degrees Celsius.


The leisure center includes a mini golf course, a rainforest, three Olympic pools and a water park. Also here is the biggest spa in Europe, which covers an area of nearly 10,000 square meters, according to the source.


The Tropical Islands place is located 35 kilometers south of Berlin Schönefeld Airport. Prices for a day in the center start at 36 euros. The center has a capacity of 6,000 people / day and a team of 500 employees.
