Arabian Travel Market launches new Wellness & Spa Lounge

Following the 2014 Global Spa and Wellness Economy Monitor report by the Global Wellness Institute, health tourism sector brings up to 130 per cent more revenue than leisure tourism. To boost these numbers, Arabian Travel Market has opened the Wellness & Spa Lounge platform for the 25 exhibitors in the segment to meet their targets.
Nadege Noblet-Segers, ATM exhibition manager, commented:
“In our research we found that across all markets, wellness tourism is exceptionally popular. This is confirmed by the report, which shows over a nine per cent year-on-year growth forecasted for the next two years, which is a staggering 50 per cent faster than overall global tourism. This prompted us to design a dedicated space with seminar sessions focused exclusively on industry topics.”
The UAE’s spa industry has huge potential and is expected to reach US$2.26 billion by 2017, doubling its annual growth since 2012. The figures make wellness travelling one of the most valuable tourism sectors in the Middle East.
The Arabian Travel Market event this year will take place at the Dubai World Trade Centre, between April 25th-28th.
