Banyan Tree Holdings Limited is set to start hospitality service in Japan with five new properties, as part of its expansion strategy across Asia.
As a result of the collaboration with Wealth Management Group, the brand has already made its debut with Dhawa Yura and Garrya Nijo Castle, while Banyan Tree Higashiyama Kyoto and Banyan Tree Ashinoko Hakone are expected to welcome first guests starting 2024 and 2026 respectively. Moreover, via a recent partnership with Terraform Capital, Banyan Tree will also open Cassia Hirafu.
Banyan Tree Higashiyama Kyoto will be located in the Gion and Higashiyama district, as Banyan Tree Ashinoko Hakone will be set near Lake Ashino. Cassia Hirafu, expected to open its gates in 2025, will be situated near Niseko, one of the most popular ski resorts in the country.
The launches synchronize with Japan’s border reopening after two years of Covid-19 pandemic.
Eddy See, President and CEO of Banyan Tree Group, commented with the occasion:
“We are pleased with our strategic entry into Japan, in line with the government’s recent decision to ease international tourism into the country. Just in time to announce the openings of Dhawa and Garrya, in addition to the new partnerships that will expand our multi-branded portfolio. Kyoto is an unmistakable great start for Banyan Tree Group’s foray into Japan, with its natural healing springs, vast history, and abundant culture.
“Our four new upcoming locations and beyond will provide signature standards of service and diversified programming that will serve as a benchmark for all future Banyan Tree Group locations in Japan.”
Dhawa Yura Kyoto and Garrya Nijo Castle Kyoto have already launched on June 17. Moreover, Banyan Tree Group has recently announced the beginning of the strategic partnership with Intrance Hotels & Resorts Inc. further boosting the group’s expansion across Japan.
