Brussels Airport Adds 700 EV Charging Stations

Interparking and Brussels Airport introduce 700 new electric vehicle charging stations, supporting sustainable transport and meeting the growing demand for EV infrastructure.
Brussels Airport, in collaboration with Interparking, has taken a significant leap towards enhancing sustainable transport options for travelers and staff with the rollout of over 700 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. This expansion not only caters to the increasing adoption of electric vehicles in Belgium but also aligns with the commitment of both entities to foster innovation and eco-friendly mobility solutions.
Previously, EV drivers had access to 50 dedicated parking spaces equipped with charging facilities. Recognizing the surge in electric vehicle usage, Interparking has now installed 500 additional charging stations for passengers in parking lots P1 and P3, strategically located near the airport terminal. Additionally, 200 new stations have been set up in the P1 parking area exclusively for staff use, bringing the total to 750 parking spaces with charging capabilities across the airport.
Roland Cracco, CEO of Interparking, emphasized the company's dedication to green mobility, stating, "The addition of these charging points at Brussels Airport is part of our ambitious project to roll out electric charging stations extensively in Belgium and the eight other European countries we operate in."
Echoing this sentiment, Arnaud Feist, CEO of Brussels Airport, highlighted electric mobility as a cornerstone of the airport's sustainability strategy. "The increase in electric vehicles necessitates more charging points. Our goal is to provide the essential infrastructure for our passengers and staff. Thanks to Interparking, travelers can now recharge their vehicles while enjoying their holiday," Feist noted.
The new charging stations are equipped with the latest technology, ensuring a seamless and secure charging experience for users. Set to be gradually activated from the beginning of March, these stations will accommodate any charging card and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Activation is free with a Pcard+ from Interparking, and the stations are optimized for long-term parking, making them ideal for travelers leaving their cars for extended periods.
This initiative marks a significant step towards accommodating the growing need for electric vehicle charging infrastructure, providing travelers and airport staff with a convenient and sustainable option for their parking needs at Brussels Airport.
