Bulgarian tourism companies expected to apply for €102 million grants
The grants will be provided for active tourism sector firms aiming to develop green energy, innovation and working capital new strategies.
According to the Bulgarian government, €102 million in grants are available for the country’s tourism sector, especially for green energy, while the funding programs are part of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.
Companies aiming to improve digitalization, energy efficiency and storage systems, as well as their working capital are expected to apply for non-refundable grants between €1,530 and €10,200. The project includes small and medium-sized businesses across the Bulgarian tourism sector.
Moreover, according to Minister of Innovation and Growth Alexander Pulev, a total of €15.6 million in grants for cyber security and digital technology solutions is currently awaiting for approval.
Firms interested in renewable energy and storage solutions will be able to apply by the end of the year. Funds will be guaranteed by the €102 million grant. At the same time, the tourism industry will be offered instruments worths €150 million for development, innovation, as well as energy sustainability.
And the good news for the country’s tourism sector doesn’t end here, as officials announced €281 million available via the Competitiveness and Innovation in Enterprises 2021-2027 programme, while private tourism sector firms will also be given the opportunity to access €115 million in unsecured loans, courtesy of the Fund of Funds and the Bulgarian Development Bank.
