Byway, a Flight-Free Travel Firm, Introduces Carbon Labeling for All Journeys
Byway Introduces New Carbon Labelling, Offering Quick Carbon Price Evaluation with Air and Land Travel Comparisons
Flight-free travel provider Byway has unveiled an innovative carbon labelling feature to provide travelers with enhanced insight into the environmental impact of their overland vacations, such as train, bus, and ferry journeys.
This addition comes in response to recent survey data, conducted jointly by Byway and OnePoll, revealing that 42% of UK holidaymakers are actively seeking alternative travel methods to flying in an effort to reduce their carbon footprint. The figure significantly increases to 65% for residents of London and 61% among Gen Z travelers.
As environmental concerns continue to influence UK travelers' choices, Byway's new feature empowers them to make informed decisions based on carbon considerations, thus enhancing transparency regarding the cumulative impact of individual actions.
Byway's carbon pricing encompasses all transportation and accommodation costs, allowing travelers to compare these expenses with the carbon emissions associated with air travel over a similar distance.
Cat Jones, the visionary founder and CEO of Byway, explained:
"We've launched carbon labelling to allow our customers to weigh carbon costs as readily as monetary ones when choosing holidays.”
“Our at-a-glance flight-comparison feature shows the scale of the carbon savings made by choosing flight-free for specific trips (For example, -80% for one week in Spain and -82% for two weeks in Croatia) and we hope it will inspire more people to swap flight-based holidays for joyful multi-stop overland journeys."
