Carnival Corp. cruise lines to modify itineraries due to Russia’s war policy
The decision came as the companies firmly support peace and strongly condemn the Russian armed invasion in Ukraine. The new itineraries will avoid Russian ports, which will be replaced with other popular destinations.
“In light of the recent attacks by Russia in Ukraine, Carnival Corporation brands will be modifying our itineraries in the coming week once alternative ports can be confirmed. We stand for peace and our thoughts are with those who are in harm’s way,” states the recent Carnival Corp. release.
4 cruises will face changes in their itineraries announced Princess Cruises, while removing St. Petersburg from its destinations and replacing stops with port cities such as Stockholm, Visby and Gdansk.
Holland America Line also modifies six cruise itineraries, with replacement stops in ports like Riga, Klaipeda and Visby and overnight stay options in Stockholm. Special cruise set to visit Vladivostok also changed destination to Busan in South Korea.
Carnival Cruise Line, Cunard and P&O Cruises also adjusted Baltic sailings with the removal of Russian destinations, as guests will be continuously updated on the situation.
Seabourn altered six Seabourn Ovation itineraries in order to avoid St. Petersburg. AIDA Cruises adjusted stops at Riga, Copenhagen, Oslo and Visby, while boosting the industry’s solidarity efforts and making a significant statement on the Russian invasion in Ukraine.
