Cathay Pacific Offers Free Wi-Fi in First and Business Class

Cathay Pacific has extended complimentary Wi-Fi services to all Business class passengers on its connected flights, with plans to offer this service to Cathay Diamond members in all cabins by November.

Complimentary Wi-Fi Now Available for First and Business Class

Passengers flying in First and Business class with Cathay Pacific can now enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi, a service that was previously only available to First class travelers since 2022. The airline successfully trialed the service on selected flights and is now rolling it out across all connected aircraft for Business class passengers.

Expanding Connectivity to Cathay Diamond Members

From November 2024, Cathay Diamond members will also enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi, regardless of their cabin class. This move is part of Cathay Pacific's continuous efforts to improve the customer experience for its most loyal passengers.

Cathay Pacific’s Chief Customer and Commercial Officer, Lavinia Lau, emphasized the airline’s dedication to enhancing its services:

With complimentary Wi-Fi now available to customers travelling in First and Business class, and coming soon to our Cathay Diamond members, they can stay connected in the air whether travelling for business or leisure."

Seamless In-Flight Connectivity

Cathay Pacific’s complimentary Wi-Fi service provides the same experience as paid Wi-Fi, allowing customers to:

• Check emails
• Browse the internet
• Stream audio
• Use social media and messaging apps
• Access cloud storage services and other professional applications

Passengers can connect one device at a time, but have the flexibility to switch devices during the flight.

Free Access to Cathay Pacific's Website and Shop

In addition to the Wi-Fi service, all passengers, regardless of cabin class, can enjoy free access to cathaypacific.com and the Cathay Shop during their flight, allowing them to browse and purchase items seamlessly.

Expanding Wi-Fi Across the Fleet

Currently, over 90% of Cathay Pacific’s fleet is equipped with Wi-Fi, including all long-haul aircraft. The airline plans to complete the rollout of connectivity across its entire fleet by mid-2025, ensuring passengers can stay connected on even more routes.
