Sabah is a hidden gem in Southeast Asia that offers a wide variety of natural attractions, from mountains to blue seas and tropical rainforests just waiting to be explored, to the simple pleasure of relaxing walk along a pristine shoreline.

Tun Sakaran Marine Park is also a great option, since it is dwelling to a wide variety of species. Registration may be done at the Sabah Parks office in Semporna or via a travel agency before entering the park. Tun Sakaran Marine Park does not have any overnight accommodations, however there are a number of dive shops in nearby Semporna that provide exclusive day trips.
Located in the Sulawesi Sea, Sipadan is a top diving location in the world. The island, which is accessible by water from Semporna, is densely vegetated and bordered by white sand beaches; it was created 600 meters above sea level by corals.
The Indo-Pacific region is home to hundreds of different coral types and more than 3,000 different fish species, making it the world's most diverse underwater environment. Some of them use the basin for mating and nesting. Sipadan's rich marine ecosystem and variety of marine species have made it a popular diving destination among sea lovers.
Moreover, on the 18th-20th of August, the Sabah International Convention Centre in Kota Kinabalu will host the ADEX Sabah Ocean Partnership Summit 2023.
Ocean preservation, training, marine photography, and film-making will all be discussed by knowledgeable speakers. The organizers have included a mermaid contest and a ghost net hunting challenge for some light-hearted competitiveness during the event.
Sabah is also a safe haven for a variety of rare and protected species. One of the world's oldest rainforests may be found here, stretching back 130 million years and providing an oasis for 688 different kinds of birdlife.
Sandakan is a great starting point for a trip down the Kinabatangan River, where you may encounter rare wildlife in their natural habitats.

Sabah plans to increase its tourist population to 2.5 million by 2023, from its current 2.2 million. The Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and the Environment commissioned STB to develop the "Feel Sabah, North Borneo" campaign, which debuted at ITB Berlin 2023.
The rebranding is a part of Sabah's strategy to become a more prominent tourist destination internationally. Despite decades of marketing to foreign tourists, few people outside of Malaysia are familiar with Sabah or its numerous attractions. STB hopes to expand its tourists base in the United States, Australia, Japan, and India. Sabah's goal is to promote the state's rich culture, stunning landscapes, and friendly locals so that it becomes a top vacation destination.
The new slogan for Sabah, "Feel Sabah, North Borneo," is a great boost for the state's tourism key players.
