Expansive Summer 2024 International Route Selection from Finavia Airports

Airlines & Airports

Finavia announces over 140 international routes for summer 2024, including eight new and returning routes across its Finnish airports, enhancing global connectivity.

This summer 2024, Finavia's network of airports will significantly expand Finland's global connectivity, offering travelers more than 140 international routes. Among these, passengers will find eight exciting new and returning routes, as well as increased weekly services to popular summer destinations. Petri Vuori, Finavia's Senior Vice President of Route Development, highlighted the collaboration with airlines and tourism operators in enriching the summer's route selection, promising around 130 international pathways from Helsinki Airport alone, alongside daily domestic flights.

Key highlights for the summer season include Finnair's resumed flights to Nagoya, Japan, and expanded service to five U.S. destinations and ten across Asia. Other Asian connections feature Juneyao Airlines to Shanghai and Zhengzhou, China, Japan Airlines to Tokyo's Haneda Airport, and Qatar Airways to Doha, Qatar.

European travel from Helsinki Airport will see growth with Finnair's new route to Wrocław, Poland, resumed flights to Tartu, Estonia, and additional services to Norwegian cities Trondheim and Bodø, as well as Visby in Sweden. Finnish Lapland will also become more accessible with increased Finnair flights to Kuusamo, Ivalo, and Kittilä, complementing multiple daily flights to Rovaniemi offered by Finnair and Norwegian.

Norwegian and Ryanair are introducing new destinations from Helsinki Airport to Sofia, Bergamo, Thessaloniki, and Dubrovnik, further diversifying travel options across Europe.

Beyond Helsinki, Finavia's network enables international travel from other Finnish cities. Oulu Airport maintains Lufthansa's route to Munich, while Tampere-Pirkkala Airport welcomes Air Baltic's new route to Palma de Mallorca among its six summer destinations. Turku Airport offers direct flights to Rome, Gdańsk, Riga, Stockholm, and Mariehamn, and Vaasa Airport enhances Swedish connections with doubled SAS flights to Stockholm.

Finavia's expansive summer offering not only strengthens Finland's position as a hub of international travel but also caters to the diverse preferences of Finnish and international travelers, from city breaks and beach holidays to cultural explorations and business trips.
