Extra legroom could become a legal right

One's place the plane can be extremely important for travelers, especially over long distances. As many passengers prefer the front seats, there may be a big competition on seat reservation. For many airlines companies, a seat reservation can be done without paying an additional fee. Unfortunately some of these companies begin to introduce fees for this service. More, if you chose to fly with a low-cost company selection and reserve a certain place on the plane is only with an extra cost.

This is why the American congressmen started talking about the problem of the seat pitch. Enactment to present a minimal base seat width and pitch for air travelers is being discussed by the US government this week. Steve Cohen, a congressman from Memphis, asserts the normal separation between columns of seats has dropped from 35 inches, before aircraft deregulation in the 1970s, to around 31 crawls today, raising wellbeing and security concerns.

A new survey conducted according to the preferences of passengers shows that the best place is the plane seat number 6A . Skyscanner survey was done on 1,000 passengers. They say it is their favorite area of the plane and whether or prefer to sit at the window outward.

7% of respondents said they would sit in rear seats of the aircraft, while 46% of them said they prefer to stay somewhere in the first 6 rows. Less than 1% said they would sit in the middle between two others. 60% of respondents want to have a window seat, and 40% prefer to sit at the edge aisle. The best place to stay in flight revealed 6A place. And the worst place is 31E. The latter is behind the plane between two other seats and often right next to the toilets.

 

Travelers can choose their plane place through check-in online. Some companies place the passengers on the plane by the method of "meet & seat" through social media. The link between airlines and sites like Facebook allow passengers to see if there be any known person in the aircraft that they will fly with.
