First Flying Car Gets FAA OK
The time for change in the way we travel has arrived.
The first fully electric flying automobile in the world has been given the green light by the FAA. As a plus, eco-friendliness is also a hallmark of the vehicle.
Alef Aeronautics, the manufacturer of the "Model A" flying automobile, claims to have been granted permission by the FAA to put the vehicle through its paces on public roads and in the air. Even though it hasn't gone on sale to the public just yet, you may still place a pre-order if you wish to buy such a car.
As the Federal Aviation Administration has issued a Special Airworthiness Certificate for this vehicle, Chief Executive Officer Jim Dukhovny commented abut the historical importance of the recent announcement.
"While there have been pioneers like Terrafugia, Paul Moller, and Henry Ford, this is the first time a vehicle, in the traditional sense (parks and drives like a car, functions like a car, looks like a car), has received permission to fly. It's also important that Alef is the first electric car which received permission to fly. And, last but not least, the ability for vertical take-off is central to most people's conception of a 'flying car'", he declared.
When released, the automobile is anticipated to have a $300,000 price tag. Pre-order spots are available now for a minimum of $150 or a maximum of $1,500.
