Gatwick Airport Enhances Asian Connections with New Routes

London Gatwick Airport announces new flights to Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, significantly increasing its weekly flights to Asia and the Middle East this summer.

London Gatwick Airport is set to expand its horizon with more than 90 weekly flights to Asia and the Middle East, following the introduction of new services to Baku, Ashgabat, and Tashkent. Welcoming Azerbaijan Airlines, Turkmenistan Airlines, and Uzbekistan Airways, Gatwick enhances its connectivity to key destinations across Asia and the Middle East.

Starting in March, Azerbaijan Airlines began thrice-weekly flights to Baku, followed by Turkmenistan Airlines and Uzbekistan Airways inaugurating their services to Ashgabat and Tashkent, respectively, last weekend. These additions complement Gatwick's extensive network, which includes routes to China, India, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. Further expansion is expected with upcoming services to Beijing, Guangzhou, and Singapore.

Stephanie Wear, VP Aviation Development at London Gatwick, expressed excitement over the new connections, highlighting the importance of these routes for passenger convenience and onward travel within Asia. Gatwick's long-haul offerings continue to grow, providing travelers with diverse and direct access to international destinations.

In addition to route expansions, Gatwick is investing in its future with plans to bring its Northern Runway into regular use. This initiative aims to enhance airport resilience, minimize delays, and contribute to economic growth by facilitating trade, tourism, and employment opportunities.
