ITA Airways Launches New Direct Flight from Rome Fiumicino to Bangkok for Winter 2024/2025

New Route to Enhance Connectivity Between Italy and Thailand
ITA Airways, the Italian national airline, has announced the launch of a new nonstop flight between Rome Fiumicino and Bangkok, starting November 16, 2024. This new route, a significant addition to ITA Airways' 2024/2025 Winter schedule, is now available for booking through all ITA Airways channels.
Flight Schedule and Details
Route and Frequency
- Rome Fiumicino to Bangkok: Departures every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday at 3:15 pm (local time), arriving in Bangkok at 7:40 am (local time) the next day.
- Bangkok to Rome Fiumicino: Departures every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday at 12:15 pm (local time), arriving in Rome at 7:00 pm (local time).
The route will be operated with an Airbus A330neo, offering state-of-the-art comfort and efficiency for passengers.
Strategic Importance
Expansion of Intercontinental Network

"Bangkok is not only a top tourism destination but also a crucial hub for connecting flights to numerous Thai islands and other paradisiacal destinations."
Boost to Tourism and Business
The new direct flight is expected to bolster both leisure and business travel between Italy and Thailand. "Thailand is one of the target markets in Southeast Asia for Rome," stated Ivan Bassato, Chief Aviation Officer of Aeroporti di Roma. "The new route to Bangkok will be an excellent option for business travelers and tourists alike, enhancing traffic flows and fostering collaboration between the two countries."

- Rome Fiumicino to Chicago: Launched April 2024

- Rome Fiumicino to Riyadh: Launched June 2, 2023
- Rome Fiumicino to Accra: Launched June 6, 2023
- Upcoming routes to Dakar and Jeddah: Starting July 3 and August 1, 2024, respectively
Currently, ITA Airways operates 57 destinations including 16 domestic, 26 international, and 15 intercontinental routes.
