Jetstar Welcomes Up To 700 Aspiring Cabin Crew Members on Board
Natasha Banjac has always dreamed of working in aviation. The 45-year old registered nurse, mother of three and Jetstar cabin crew recruiter is now living her dream.
The low-cost airline is looking to hire up to 700 new cabin staff by the end the year in order to help it expand to new destinations, and improve its performance.
Nearly 40 'ground schools,' or cabin crew training, will be held across the country in Melbourne, Sydney Cairns Gold Coast, Adelaide and Sydney to support new recruits.
The Qantas Group has a long-term goal to create 8,500 new operational positions over the next 10 years.
Jennifer Armor is Jetstar's head of customer experience. She said that new recruits to Jetstar have a wealth of life experiences.

Growing the network and improving reliability
Jetstar increased its customer service, engineering, and operational staff up to 20% in the last year as it continues to expand its destination network and improve its operational performance.
Jetstar will be adding new destinations and frequencies to its fleet of popular destinations with the arrival of the eighth Airbus A321neo LR this month.
The first direct flight between Sydney and Rarotonga will begin on 29th June. From 21st July, the NEO is adding 58,000 seats to Adelaide-Bali. This means that more customers can enjoy low fares.
On 23 May, the low-cost airline made adjustments to check-in times, bag drops and boarding time for both domestic and international flights to Australia and New Zealand to ensure more flights depart on schedule.
Jetstar is upgrading its systems, processes, and spare parts management in addition to adding more staff, introducing a new aircraft, and adjusting the check-in/boarding times.
Jetstar's performance operationally improved significantly in May as a result of these combined initiatives.
According to the airline's most recent data, its cancellation rate for domestic flights has nearly halved over the past month. Its on-time performance in May has also increased five percentage points compared with April.
Jetstar flew more than 1.4 million customers in May on its domestic and international network, with fares starting at $39 for one-way travel.
