KLM Introduces Year-Round Trans-Atlantic Service Between Portland and Amsterdam

New Direct Flights to Enhance Trans-Atlantic Connectivity

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines is expanding its trans-Atlantic network by adding a direct service between Amsterdam and Portland, Oregon. Starting October 27, 2024, KLM will offer three weekly flights during the winter and five weekly flights during the summer, marking KLM’s 21st direct destination in North America.

Flight Schedule and Frequency

Winter Schedule

From October 27, 2024, KLM will operate three flights per week on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays between Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS) and Portland International Airport (PDX). The winter schedule is as follows:

• Flight KL615: Departs Amsterdam Schiphol at 10:25 a.m. and arrives in Portland at 11:25 a.m. local time.
• Flight KL616: Departs Portland at 1:25 p.m. local time and arrives in Amsterdam at 7:50 a.m. local time the next day.

Summer Schedule

Starting in the summer of 2025, KLM will increase the frequency to five flights per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The summer schedule is:

• Flight KL615: Departs Amsterdam Schiphol at 10:40 a.m. and arrives in Portland at 11:30 a.m. local time.
• Flight KL616: Departs Portland at 1:30 p.m. local time and arrives in Amsterdam at 7:55 a.m. local time the next day.

The flights will be operated by the Boeing 787-9, featuring 30 seats in World Business Class, 21 seats in Premium Comfort Class, and 224 seats in Economy Class. This configuration ensures a comfortable travel experience for all passengers.

The new KLM service will complement Delta Air Lines' existing nonstop route between Portland and Amsterdam. Delta, a partner in the trans-Atlantic joint venture with KLM, has been operating this route for 15 years, enhancing connectivity and providing more options for travelers.
