Las Vegas To Welcome The First Hotel Allowing Guests To Smoke Marijuana

The city’s first cannabis-friendly hotel will open its doors this spring, as a full floor will be designated as a smoking area.
The venue, which was once known as the Artisan Hotel Boutique, is undergoing a major rebranding process that will result in it being a member of the Elevations Hotels & Resorts portfolio. The hotel will be constructed in the Las Vegas Arts District.
The brand-new Lexi, a 64-room property, boasts that it will be the first of its kind in Sin City to promote the notion of cannabis-friendly hospitality, while also placing a priority on offering guests and residents transforming environments that are pleasant, accessible, and wholly original.
According to the President and Chief Executive Officer of the company, Alex Rizk, the owners of the place intend to show their “commitment to creating a new type of hotel concept that is defined not only by our acceptance and normalization of cannabis in the hospitality space, but also by our dedication to reclaim storied properties and transform them for the modern-day travellers”.
It is already legal to use marijuana in Vegas. However, the local rules state that you are not permitted to smoke it in public places, and many hotels threaten to levy a smoking tax if you light up a cannabis cigarette in your room, due to the smell it leaves behind.
But now, at least on its fourth floor and in specific common spaces, The Lexi intends to distance itself from other hotels in this respect. On the fourth story, each individual room will have its own "state of the art" air filtering system to ensure that the air is always clean and circulating properly.
The Lexi hasn't revealed its official opening date just yet, but interested visitors may sign up for alerts to be notified when the hotel's booking engine is ready to accept reservations.
