Lithuania Introduces Tourism Campaign Fueled by Artificial Intelligence
Lithuania Travel launched a tourism promotion using Artificial Intelligence.
The campaign generates surreal images of cityscapes, landscapes, and even the cold pink soup that is a trademark of Lithuania.
SchengenVisaInfo.com reported that the official website stated that the results inspired a new campaign to promote the 2023 tourism season. Hundreds of images were produced by asking the AI to imagine Lithuania from the past, in the near future, and with imaginative tones.
"While AI can imitate things that are already great, beautiful and inspiring, it takes a person to experience it. This is the main message of the campaign, launched under the "Lithuania - an experience to share" slogan," the website explains.
Digital advertising and social media are used to invite people from the four main tourism markets of Germany, Poland UK, Israel, and Germany to visit Lithuania.
In 2022, the Baltic country will receive twice as many foreign tourists than it did in 2017. Meanwhile, 1.15 million people are expected to travel to Lithuania for at least one day. Germany, Poland and the United Kingdom were four of the top inbound markets, accounting for 32% of all arrivals.
Most tourists, or 93 percent of those who visited Lithuania last summer, rated their overall experience as positive.
"We want to show that Lithuania is an experience in and of itself - inspirational, beautiful, exciting and tasty, depending on what you're looking for. For some, this experience will be a hot-air balloon flight, for some - a street art tour, and for others - a fine dining tasting of local flavours," says Dovile Seliuke, Head of Tourism Marketing and Communication Department.
The Crazy Tourist, a website that posts blogs about the best places to see in any destination, has listed Vilnius as the top place to go. The city is a mix of medieval wonders, gorgeous Gothic and Russo Baroque architecture.
Kaunas, a city that is worth a visit, is a great place to go if you are an art lover. There are many exhibitions dedicated M. K. Ciurlionis who is Lithuania's most famous artist. Kernave, a UNESCO site, is a beautiful, historic and heritage-rich location.
Palanga is a good option for summer holidays. This beach is particularly worth visiting between June and August. It is also very accessible and sunbather friendly.
Latvia is likely to be the top source of market for Lithuania in 2021, followed by Poland and Germany.
