Lufthansa’s First Airbus A380 Flight to Denver Takes Off in April 2025
Lufthansa will debut its Airbus A380 on the Munich-Denver route starting April 30, 2025, marking the first time the airline will operate this iconic aircraft to the USA. Denver will become the sixth destination for Lufthansa’s A380, adding to its expanding long-haul fleet.
A New Milestone for Lufthansa and Denver Airport
This flight also marks a first for Denver International Airport as it will be the first scheduled flight with an aircraft of this size landing at the airport. Lufthansa’s Airbus A380 is renowned for its spacious cabins and premium seating, offering passengers an unparalleled flying experience.
“The Airbus A380 service to Denver is not only a first for Lufthansa, but also for the airport itself. The A380 offers more premium seats than any other aircraft, and passengers, airport visitors, and crews love the flying experience and the feeling of space,” said Heiko Reitz, Chief Customer Officer at Lufthansa Airlines.
Daily Service with Spacious Seating Options
The daily flight departs from Munich at 11:15 am under flight number LH480, arriving in Denver at 1:45 pm local time. The return flight leaves Denver at 4:15 pm and lands back in Munich at 10:50 am the following day.
The Airbus A380 features a total of 509 seats:
- 8 First Class seats
- 78 Business Class seats
- 52 Premium Economy seats
- 371 Economy Class seats
Expanding Lufthansa’s A380 Long-Haul Destinations
In summer 2025, Lufthansa will operate a total of eight Airbus A380s from Munich, connecting passengers to New York (JFK), Boston, Washington, Los Angeles, Delhi, and Denver. The A380's spacious configuration ensures that Lufthansa offers one of the most comfortable long-haul flying experiences available.
Denver: Gateway to the Rocky Mountains and Beyond
With Denver, Lufthansa offers travelers a gateway to the Rocky Mountains, making it a paradise for sports and nature enthusiasts. In addition, Lufthansa passengers can easily access another 170 destinations across North America via its Star Alliance partner United Airlines, including popular spots like Phoenix, Las Vegas, and Honolulu.
Lufthansa has been flying nonstop from Munich to Denver for nine years and from Frankfurt for 25 years. Starting in summer 2025, the airline will offer four daily flights to Denver—two from Munich and two from Frankfurt—further enhancing connectivity between Europe and the USA.
