Malaysia Bans Its Citizens from Traveling to North Korea
The escalating conflict between North Korea and the United States has triggered officials in Malaysia to ban travel to the peninsula.
As the authorities in Pyongyang decided to continue their nuclear missile tests development, officials in Malaysia made an unexpected decision: they banned their citizens from traveling to the communist country, despite Malaysia having good diplomatic relationships with North Korea.
On the other hand, Malaysia’s soccer team should play against North Korea during the Asian Cup tie. The match is scheduled in Pyongyang on October 5th. Since now, there are no information if security threats will allow the sports confrontation to take place. If not, this will be the third time the game will be postponed. The final decision will be taken by the Asian Football Confederation.
North Korea has received repeated sanctions from the U.N., due to its intercontinental ballistic missiles tests. As announced by the foreign ministry in Malaysia, the travel ban will be reconsidered when the situation will go back to normal.
