Starting October 2, 2024, Vietnam Airlines introduces direct flights from Munich to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, marking the expansion of its service in Europe. The flights, operated by Boeing B787-9, will connect passengers twice a week to these vibrant Vietnamese cities.
Vietnam Airlines is set to expand its presence in Europe with the introduction of direct flights from Munich Airport to Vietnam, beginning at the end of the 2024 summer flight schedule. This new service will link Munich with Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, enhancing the airline's Asian route offerings and providing travelers with convenient connections twice a week. Initially, Hanoi flights will operate on Mondays and Saturdays, while the Ho Chi Minh City route will be available on Tuesdays. From December 2024, the frequency for both destinations will increase to two flights per week.
The flights will be serviced by the Boeing B787-9 aircraft, featuring a three-class configuration to cater to various passenger needs, including Business Class, Premium Economy, and Economy Class. This expansion makes Munich the fourth European city in Vietnam Airlines' network, joining Frankfurt, London-Heathrow, and Paris Charles de Gaulle.
Jost Lammers, CEO of Munich Airport, expressed enthusiasm for the new routes, highlighting their potential to strengthen Munich's status as a leading European hub and to foster economic and cultural exchanges between Bavaria and Vietnam. The launch of these flights underscores the growing popularity of Vietnam as a travel destination and the significance of the German-Vietnamese relationship, evidenced by academic partnerships and business investments.
