New Liquid Rules at Stockholm Arlanda Terminal 5 from Sept 1

News

Starting September 1, 2024, a temporary change in EU regulations will affect liquid restrictions at the security checkpoint in Terminal 5 of Stockholm Arlanda Airport, limiting liquid containers in hand luggage to 100 ml.

New Restrictions for Terminal 5

Due to updated EU rules, passengers passing through Terminal 5 at Stockholm Arlanda Airport will need to adhere to a stricter limit on liquid containers in their hand luggage. From September 1, only containers of up to 100 ml will be allowed. However, passengers will not need to remove these containers from their hand luggage during security checks. Electronic devices such as laptops, tablets, and mobile phones can also remain in hand baggage during screening at Terminal 5.

Consistency Across Other Checkpoints

The new rules specifically impact Terminal 5 at Stockholm Arlanda. The liquid restrictions at other security checkpoints within Stockholm Arlanda, including Terminals 2 and 4, as well as at Swedavia’s other nine airports, remain unchanged. At these locations, passengers must continue to place liquids in containers of up to 100 ml inside a transparent, resealable one-litre plastic bag, which must be presented separately at the security checkpoint.

Important Reminders for Travelers

Passengers are reminded to be aware of the specific security checkpoint rules applicable to their journey, as these may vary between terminals and airports, both domestically and internationally.

Detailed Rules for Security Checks
