The inaugural member of Oceania Cruises' modern Allura Class vessels, has arrived at Finantieri's naval yard in Genoa, Italy.
The Vista can accommodate up to 1,200 people and has just debuted three new dining and entertainment ideas. On May 8, 2023, renowned chef, novelist, restaurateur, and television personality Giada De Laurentiis will perform the christening ceremony in Valletta, Malta. Those who sign up in time will be able to watch a livestream of the ceremony.
Ember, serving refined American cuisine, Aquamar Kitchen, providing spa treatments, and The Bakery at Baristas, a larger café with a selection of French and Italian pastries, are all new additions to the ship.
Beginning in the Mediterranean, the Vista will then cruise the coasts of Canada and New England in the fall before heading south to the Caribbean, Mexico, and Central America for the remainder of the year.
Frank A. Del Rio, President of Oceania Cruises, remarked with the occasion:
“Today we usher in a new era for Oceania Cruises with the delivery of Vista. We could not have built such an exceptional ship without the close partnership enjoyed with Fincantieri. We thank each and every person who had a hand in bringing her to life. From the smallest of design details to the largest per capita galley at sea, Vista is a marvel that will be enjoyed by guests for decades to come.”
Passengers will be welcomed and cared for by Captain Luca Manzi, who has been at sea for over 30 years, Staff Captain Edgardo Cossu, General Manager Dominique Nicolle, who started out in fine dining kitchens in Germany before making the transition to ship lifestyle, and Executive Chef Frederic Camonin, with more than 2 decades of cooking experience.
