Norwegian Cruise Line Announces Enhancements to Norwegian Encore

Cruise Lines & Cruise Ships

Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has announced significant updates to Norwegian Encore, set to enhance onboard guest experiences. The enhancements include the introduction of the adults-only Spice H2O lounge, expanded dining venues, redesigned suites in The Haven by Norwegian®, and new balcony staterooms.

New Adults-Only Lounge: Spice H2O

A Relaxing Outdoor Oasis

From November 18 to December 2, 2024, Norwegian Encore will undergo a two-week dry dock to introduce Spice H2O, an adults-only, complimentary outdoor area. Replacing the laser tag arena, this new space will feature hot tubs, large day beds surrounded by cooling pools, and a large bar. Designed by Studio Dado, Spice H2O will offer a tranquil escape for guests aged 18 and over.

Expanded Dining Options

Cagney's Steakhouse and Teppanyaki

Two of NCL's most popular specialty dining restaurants, Cagney's Steakhouse and Teppanyaki, will expand to accommodate more guests. Cagney's, which recently won the 2024 Wine Spectator Award of Excellence, and Teppanyaki will take over the spaces previously occupied by Los Lobos and Coco's. Additionally, Ocean Blue will transform into Palomar, offering Mediterranean seafood cuisine.

Redesigned Haven Suites

Luxury and Space

In response to growing demand, Norwegian Encore’s Premier Owner’s Suites with a Large Balcony in The Haven by Norwegian® will be expanded from two to three bedrooms. These suites will feature three and a half bathrooms, a renovated living room, master bedroom, outdoor balcony furniture, and a new dining room. The Haven offers exclusive amenities such as concierge service, a private pool area, restaurant, and bar.

Additional Staterooms

New Balcony Options

Post-renovation, Norwegian Encore will debut 24 new balcony staterooms and two club balcony staterooms, repurposing part of the ship’s Observation Lounge.

Family-Friendly Offerings

Exciting Onboard Activities

Norwegian Encore continues to offer family-friendly activities such as the Norwegian Encore Speedway®, an exhilarating 1,100-foot-long racetrack, the Aqua Park with multi-story waterslides, and the Galaxy Pavilion, NCL’s virtual reality complex.

Upcoming Itineraries

Caribbean and Alaska Cruises

After the refurbishment, Norwegian Encore will embark on a 12-day transatlantic voyage from Southampton, U.K. to Miami. It will then offer seven-day round-trip Caribbean sailings through March 2025, with stops in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic; Tortola, British Virgin Islands; St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; and NCL’s private island, Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas. For summer 2025, Norwegian Encore will offer seven-day round-trip cruises to Alaska from Seattle, showcasing the lush landscapes and wildlife of the Last Frontier.

David J. Herrera's Statement

“Our guests’ wants and needs are at the forefront of every decision that we make, and enhancing Norwegian Encore with more of the experiences they value showcases our commitment to just that,” said David J. Herrera, President of Norwegian Cruise Line. “From more space for adults to relax, to more opportunities to enjoy their favorite dining options and beyond, we are dedicated to providing our guests with an elevated onboard experience as part of their dream vacation.”
