Anantara Dhigu Maldives Resort Unveils Refurbished Over Water Villas with Larger Pools

Hotels & Resorts

Set on a stunning natural island in the South Malé Atoll, Anantara Dhigu Maldives Resort has reintroduced its over water villas after four months of extensive renovations. The refurbishments include a complete overhaul of the interiors and the addition of four new pools, offering an enhanced luxury experience for couples and families.

Inspired Design and Enhanced Comfort

Drawing inspiration from the forms of a Maldivian boat and its journey over serene waters, the design concept for the over water villas revolves around the theme of “Sailboat Serenity.” The award-winning architecture and interior design firm, SODA (Thailand) Ltd., led by Stephen O'Dell, has beautifully translated this concept into the interiors. The villas feature fluid lines and a soothing ambiance, creating a relaxing and comfortable space that blends the beauty of the surrounding lagoon with the villa interiors.

The 40 over water villas are adorned with a natural color scheme, featuring warm neutral tones and subtle blue accents that reflect the water. The outdoor space includes cleverly designed over water hammocks in the Sunrise and Sunset Over Water Villas, offering guests a unique way to enjoy the stunning surroundings.

New Deluxe Sunset Over Water Pool Villas

The refurbishment also introduces four new Deluxe Sunset Over Water Pool Villas, expanding the inventory of the highly sought-after sunset-facing pool villas. These exclusive villas offer 129 square meters of luxurious space, including a much larger infinity pool and direct access to the crystal-clear waters of the lagoon. These enhancements make the villas an ideal sanctuary for guests to unwind and rejuvenate in the island paradise.

Upcoming Additions and Dining Experiences

Following the villa refurbishments, Anantara Dhigu Maldives Resort plans several additional renovations, including the introduction of an exclusive bar, The Yellow Fin Club. This new venue will complement the resort’s numerous dining options, allowing guests to enjoy fine cuisines and learn about wines from the resort’s Wine Guru.

Guests can indulge in expertly grilled meats and fresh seafood at Sea.Fire.Salt., savor wholesome Italian dishes at Aqua, and enjoy breakfast and themed dinner buffets at Fushi Café. The neighboring Anantara Veli Maldives Resort offers modern Japanese fare at Origami, Sri Lankan, Indian, and Maldivian dishes at Cumin, and Mediterranean tapas at Dhoni Bar. For a more intimate dining experience, Anantara’s signature Designer Dining by Anantara provides a private chef and sommelier.

Activities and Recreation

The resort offers a wide array of water and land-based activities, ensuring guests have plenty of options for both relaxation and adventure. Aquafanatics, the resident water sports partner, provides thrilling underwater experiences, while Tropicsurf offers surfing lessons during the surf season. Guests can also participate in Anantara’s sustainability program by adopting a coral.

On land, guests can enjoy tennis, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, chess, Pétanque, and a fully equipped fitness center. Personal training sessions and boxing ring experiences are available for fitness enthusiasts. For quieter pursuits, guests can book a Spice Spoons by Anantara cooking class, relax at the overwater Anantara Spa, or lounge by the infinity pool.
