Disney World’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park to Reopen

News

Disney World's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park will reopen March 19, the same day that Blizzard beach, the Orlando park's other waterpark, will be closing temporarily.

According to a Disney Parks blog post, Typhoon Lagoon will reopen after a long closure because of seasonal renovations. It features a 400-foot-long watercoaster, family-friendly attractions, and thrilling plunge slides.

A Moana Cone with DOLE whip strawberry will join the fan-favorite Hei Hei Cone. There are also new tempting options like a pineapple upside-down cone, barbeque chicken, and grilled pineapple flatbread. Also, there is an adult-only beverage called the Kungaloosh Kooler. This honors the once defunct Adventurers Club. For a limited time, a Typhoon Tilly Sipper will be available for refillable fountain drinks.

Private surfing lessons are also available at Typhoon Lagoon which is home to the largest wave pool North America.

H20 Glow After Hours will return to the park when it reopens. The after-hours event returns May 20 for selected evenings and features glowing lighting effects, themed food, and a transformation of the park.

This limited-capacity event allows families to enjoy the park's thrilling water slides without waiting as long. You can also enjoy popcorn, select beverages, icecream treats, surprise characters and a DJ dance party. Tickets are now on sale

Disney announced that Disney's other park, Disney’s Blizzard beach Water Park, would close for refurbishment starting March 19. There has not been an announcement about a reopening date.

For 1-day admissions priced at $69.99, a separate water park ticket must be purchased. Guests with annual passes and standard tickets can add on an option. To visit Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, you don't need to make reservations.

All guests at Walt Disney World resort hotels receive complimentary transportation.
