The Refurbished Carlton Cannes, A Regent Hotel, Reopens Today

News

The estate's magnificent Belle Epoque front, which is flanked by twin domes, has been painstakingly renovated, breathing new life into this historical jewel.

The iconic hotel underwent a two-year, massive makeover during which time its historic characteristics, especially its one-of-a-kind façade, were expertly conserved, resulting in a contemporary masterpiece.

Carlton Cannes, A Regent Hotel was redesigned by renowned French interior designer Tristan Auer. Richard Lavelle, an expert in restoration and also an architect, planned and oversaw the entire refurbishing process.

The Regent name is synonymous with "the perfect destination," and this hotel embodies that ideal with its unique combination of Belle Epoque spirit, excellent craftsmanship, and vibrant atmosphere. The property is located in the Cote d'Azur's buzzing centre, promising opulent accommodations, sumptuous guest experiences, and a medley of distinct qualities.

Hotel guests will be wowed by the unexpected experiences offered in the venue's restaurants, bars, and lively beach club, as the building is contrasting modern installations with its astonishing ancient structure.

The dazzling sunlight of the French Riviera, the clear blue waters of the Mediterranean, and the abundance of natural light all serve as a backdrop against which the hotel's dark colour theme may be appreciated in all its solemn beauty.

Throughout the course of its extensive revitalization process, the hotel was touched by the hands of at least 750 skilled artists and crafters, whose efforts are evident everywhere.

Designer Tristan Auer declared following the renovation:

"From the very beginning, the idea has been to skilfully preserve this listed icon, while still creating a masterpiece of modern times. The main objective was to give a refined modern touch. The inspiration for this transformation came from the sumptuous symbols of the French Riviera, such as the changing colours of the Mediterranean coastline as well as the mesmerising movements of the sea breeze. The spirit and sweetness of the French Riviera are present at all times. These ideas took shape thanks to the unmatched expertise provided by luxury craftsmen.

“I was lucky that my ideas and my intentions were beautifully brought to life by these artists.”

The Carlton Cannes, the first five-star hotel ever built in Cannes, has been a Riviera landmark for over a century. And now, as it has been added to the portfolio of Regent Hotels & Resorts, the moment represents nothing but another important historical milestone. Moreover, over the last two years, efforts were made to redefine the brand as a legendary symbol of luxury hospitality, expanding on its original goal of raising the bar for contemporary opulence.

Today's launch is scheduled to be shortly followed by the opening of the Regent Bali Canggu in late 2023. Moreover, Regent hotels plans to open to the public one-of-a-kind luxury properties also in Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Kyoto, Shenzhen, Shanghai and Sanya in the years to come.
