Radisson Launches First Verified Net Zero Hotels in 2025 Report

Green Travel

Radisson Hotel Group has published its 2025 Responsible Business Report, marking a notable step forward in its sustainability journey with the launch of its first Verified Net Zero hotels and measurable progress across people, community, and environmental commitments.

The headline milestone is the opening of the group's first two Verified Net Zero Hotels — one in Manchester City Centre and one in Oslo City Centre — establishing what Radisson describes as a scalable model for decarbonising both existing and new properties without compromising guest experience. The group is targeting full Net Zero status across its portfolio by 2050.

On the environmental side, Radisson recorded a 23 percent reduction in emissions intensity per square metre compared to its 2019 baseline, alongside a 6 percent drop in total Scope 1 and 2 emissions — notable given the portfolio grew by 20 percent over the same period. Currently, 78 hotels in the group run entirely on renewable electricity.

The people story is equally strong. With over 75,000 team members across more than 100 countries, Radisson achieved an 84 percent employee engagement score — 18 percentage points above the industry average. Women now hold 31 percent of leadership positions, and 40 percent of job openings were filled internally. The Radisson People Foundation, launched in 2024, supported more than 250 team members facing hardship during the year.

Community impact in 2025 included €890,000 in cash and in-kind donations, 79,000 volunteer hours, and a continued partnership with Just a Drop that brought clean water and sanitation access to more than 34,000 people. The group also earned an EcoVadis Silver Medal for responsible sourcing practices.

The 2025 report is also the first aligned with the EU's Voluntary Sustainability Reporting Standard for SMEs, reflecting a growing push toward greater transparency and accountability in how the hospitality sector reports its environmental and social performance.
