Revitalized Murrieta Hot Springs

California's Historic Murrieta Hot Springs Resort Reinvigorated by 18-Month Renovation Project Led by Olympus Real Estate Group

Established in 1902 as a health haven, Murietta once attracted locals, travelers, and celebrities to its healing waters in southwest Riverside County.

After decades of neglect, Olympus acquired the property for US$50 million in 2022 from the Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa, which had owned it since 1995. The conversion into a Christian conference retreat led to the closure of the hot springs for nearly 30 years. Following a recent overhaul, the 46-acre site now boasts 174 guestrooms and a sprawling thermal springs resort fed by alkaline geothermal waters.

Wellness amenities include 50 geothermal pools, a full-service spa, and the original Bath Hall with steam rooms, saunas, and more. Day passes start at US$89 on weekdays and rise to US$99 on weekends.

Murietta introduces a science-based Soaking Guide to optimize guests' wellbeing through water immersion. Spearheaded by medical director Dr. Marcus Coplin and wellness VP Sharon Holtz, the resort offers geothermal water programs tailored to enhance health.

Spa treatments, inspired by the area's mineral-rich waters and agricultural history, include facials, massages, and mud rituals. Over 30 HIIT and 25 strength classes, Aqua Sound Baths, yoga, and meditation cater to diverse wellness needs. Renovations overseen by architect Chris Campbell preserve California's architectural heritage.

The new guestrooms prioritize sleep quality, featuring amenities curated by Dr. Coplin. Specialized Sleep Rooms offer advanced sleep technology for optimal rest. The resort also boasts a poolside café, gazebo bar, coffee shop, lounge bar, and full-service restaurant, ensuring a holistic wellness experience.
