Sir Richard Branson's new luxury lifestyle hotel brand, the newest hotel in New York City's NoMad Neighborhood.
Virgin Hotels New York City opened its doors to guests starting February 2023. The official grand opening will take place in spring 2023. The new addition to Virgin Hotels' collection, located at 1227 Broadway and occupying the entire block between 29th Street & 30th Streets, is the center of NoMad, a vibrant neighborhood that offers a sophisticated yet friendly hospitality experience in one the most exciting cities in the world. This is the sixth Virgin Hotels located in the United States, and the seventh in the brand's portfolio.

Design
Virgin Hotels hired MARKZEFF, a Brooklyn-based design firm, and Stantec, a community-minded architecture firm to design the hotel. The result is playful and true to New York City, while still maintaining the high standards of luxury hospitality that Virgin Group has set for decades. The design maximizes views in public and private spaces while referencing nearby Madison Square Park. There are some subtle design elements that reference Madison Square Park. Some bolder design components are reminiscent of Virgin brands, such as the red staircase linking the third and fourth floors, as well as other red accents, like the Chamber doors. A collection of over 100 pieces is also featured in the hotel's art collection. The lobby's "Where is Richard?" mural. The lobby's "Where's Richard?" mural is by Nigel Sussman inviting guests to play a Virgin-themed "Where's Waldo" version. The hotel's largest 2D piece, "The Sweat of Disco", by Joeggu Hossmann celebrates the city's history and icons.
