Ryanair to boost service to Venice

20 additional routes to Venice Marco Polo airport will be added by Ryanair in order to cover demand for the upcoming winter season.
The decision translates into an additional US$100 million investment in Italy’s Veneto base, which will account for a total of $600 million.
Starting winter 2022/23, the low cost carrier will serve 330 flights a week from Venice Marco Polo to 27 destinations. The 20 new routes will feature Birmingham, Cologne, Dublin, Lanzarote, Lisbon, Madrid, Marseille and Vienna, this way enhancing Venice connectivity to 11 European countries.
The move is part of the airline’s strategy to consolidate its operations across northern Italy.
“Although other carriers have reduced their capacity by almost 50 per cent pre-Covid, the SAVE Group acted quickly and decisively to the advantage of the Veneto region, ensuring growth long-term by Ryanair. […] This winter we will operate more than 470 per cent compared to our pre-Covid capacity in Venice”, the carrier’s director of route development, Ray Kelliher, commented.
Moreover, according to recent statements made by SAVE Group sales and marketing aviation director, Camillo Bozzolo, Ryanair's decision will also create 120 additional jobs in the sector.
"Ryanair's fourth aircraft arriving at Marco Polo will give a further boost to the resumption of traffic started in the current summer season,” Bozzolo concluded.
