S-Bahn Service Disruptions to BER Airport from September to November 2024

Due to ongoing construction works, the Berlin S-Bahn lines S9 and S45 will not operate continuously between September 13th and November 8th, 2024. Passengers traveling to and from BER Airport are advised to use alternative transportation options such as the FEX (Airport Express) or regional trains.

Key Dates and Affected Sections

  • September 13th (10:00 PM) to September 16th, 2024 (1:30 AM):
    • Closed section: BER <> Baumschulenweg
  • September 16th (4:00 AM) to October 14th, 2024 (1:30 AM):
    • Closed section: BER <> Schöneweide
  • October 14th (4:00 AM) to November 8th, 2024 (1:30 AM):
    • Closed section: BER <> Adlershof

Replacement Bus Services

To accommodate passengers during the disruption, replacement buses will be available:

  • S9X (Express Bus):
    • Baumschulenweg (until September 16th) / Schöneweide (from September 16th) – Johannisthal – Adlershof – BER
  • S9A (All Stations to Schönefeld, then direct to BER):
    • Baumschulenweg (until September 16th) / Schöneweide (from September 16th) – BER

Starting October 14th, 2024, S9X/S9A buses will operate from Adlershof. These replacement buses will depart from bus stops B15-B17 at BER (Bus stop B).

Additional Travel Information

During the construction period, the FEX will make additional stops at Schöneweide station. Passengers are encouraged to check the VBB website for the latest travel updates and plan accordingly to avoid disruptions.

Travelers are urged to allow extra time for their journeys to and from BER Airport and to consider the alternative transport options available during this period.
