Sommet Education in collaboration with Les Roches, Glion Institute of Higher Education and Ecole Ducasse are currently participating to Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Tourism new training program dedicated to 100.000 young Saudis aiming to build a career in the hospitality sector.
The project is called ‘Tourism Trailblazers’ and was initiated by His Excellency Ahmed Al Khateeb, Minister of Tourism, during the World Tourism Organization’s Executive Council in Jeddah.
The Minister of Tourism declared:
“The program demonstrates our commitment to empowering young people by providing them with right skills, support and opportunities to shape the future of the tourism industry. It is vital that we invest in our youth now. Creating a skilled workforce with the talent and ambition to support and drive the tourism sector regionally and globally is key to realising the Saudi Vision 2030, a unique and transformative economic and social reform blueprint that is opening Saudi Arabia up to the world.”
The program was designed to support and develop young talent across the sector, while promoting high standard professionalism and top level skills. More similar initiatives will follow as part of the National Tourism Strategy and Saudi Vision 2030 targets, with the goal of creating one million new jobs in the industry by 2030.
The first session of the training is taking place at Les Roches Global Hospitality Education, in Marbella, Spain and focuses on the development of Tourism Business and Operations, Operation to Customer Experience and Sales skills.
Benoît-Etienne Domenget, CEO of Sommet Education added:
“We are honored to contribute to the rise of Saudi talents, fully engaged in providing them with the practical and academic skills they will need to embrace a career in such a wide industry at a time where opportunities of growth and development are at their highest for all.”
