Spring Is the Right Time to Discover the Egypt of Pharaohs

News

Egyptian history begins in prehistoric times when Sahara Desert was formed, forcing civilizations to approach the Nile in order to cultivate gardens and catch fish. But Egypt of the Pharaohs, which came to life 5,000 years ago, was the one who sparked the imagination of people worldwide. Important people from over 30 different dynasties, their lives, cultures and knowledge of mummification, mathematics and astronomy became representative images of Ancient Egypt. And the spring time is just the right time to discover all of these under a gentle, still warm sun.

The pharaonic period was also known as the Dynasties Era, including 30 dynasties. It all began on around 3150 BC, with the first pharaoh that joined and then split the Egypt into Upper Egypt and Lower Egypt. Overall, it is believed that the first pharaoh was Menes, although on other archaeological notes there appear pharaoh Narmer or Aha. Menes established his capital at Memphis, a city that has become the heart of the country.

The Egypt and the Nile Valley in particular can give the sensation of too much to do that may seem impossible to go through them all in one trip. A first visit to Cairo will mean that you will be able to see the Pyramids, the Sphinx and the Egyptian Museum, while a trip to Luxor would not be complete without visiting the Temples of Karnak, Luxor and of course, the fabled Valley of the Kings. Of course, there are alternatives. For example, you can stay a day or two in Cairo, you can fly to Luxor and from there you can embark on a cruise to Aswan, from where you can fly back to Cairo. Alternatively, a trip on the Nile Valley can be extended with a visit to one of the Western Desert oases, the Red Sea or Sinai Peninsula.
