Turkish Airlines Launches Flights to Sydney, Australia

Turkish Airlines has officially announced the launch of its new flight route to Sydney, marking a significant expansion into the Australian market. Set to commence on December 4, 2024, this will be the airline's second destination on the continent, offering non-stop flights from Istanbul in the future.

Flight Details

The Istanbul–Sydney flights will operate four times a week via Kuala Lumpur using Airbus A350-900 aircraft. This route is designed to bolster ties between Türkiye and Australia, enhancing tourism, trade, and cultural exchange.

• Flight Schedule:
  • TK174: Departs Istanbul at 15:15, arrives Kuala Lumpur at 6:20+1, then departs Kuala Lumpur for Sydney at 07:40, arriving at 18:30.
  • TK175: Departs Sydney at 20:40, arrives Kuala Lumpur at 1:55+1, then departs Kuala Lumpur for Istanbul at 03:55, arriving at 10:15.

Executive Statements

Sydney Airport CEO Scott Charlton highlighted the importance of the direct flights, noting that they offer seamless access to Turkish Airlines’ extensive network from Istanbul.
