“This is clearly an issue that spans well beyond the travel industry itself to practically all other sectors of the U.S. economy.
“By bringing together stakeholders across related industries, we are aligning leaders in travel, transportation and technology on the critical issues that will affect their businesses for decades to come”, declared U.S. Travel Executive Vice President Emerson Barnes.
U.S. Travel Association also mentioned its long-term goals connected to tracking the industry’s progress, boosting existent targets and commitments, as well as identifying new efficient policies related to sustainability and proactive operations. The Policy Committee will be in charge of supporting a fluent mutual collaboration between the two organisations.
In order to properly achieve its targets, U.S. Travel also partnered with more than 100 travel industry leaders in order to urge federal government’s representatives to introduce a tax credit for the production and use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), as well as boost energy efficiency investments and protect natural tourism attractions across the US territory.
