UK threatened by ISIS after Brussels attack

World Security

A “harder and more bitter” attack is expected to happen in UK, following Brussels bombing last week claimed by ISIS

Britain's security went on high alert after ISIS threatened with bombing UK, following the bomb attacks from the Belgian capital last week.

The alert level stands as “severe”, which marks the fact that a terror attack is highly imminent.

Prime Minister David Cameron declared his condolences and called for caution during the government's emergency COBRA meeting. “These are appalling and savage terrorist attacks and I've just spoken to the prime minister of Belgium to give our sympathies and our condolences to the Belgian people. We absolutely stand with them at this very difficult time. These were attacks in Belgium; they could just as well be attacks in Britain or in France or Germany or elsewhere in Europe. We need to stand together against these appalling terrorists and make sure they can never win. I've also made sure that we've offered every support to the Belgian security and policing and intelligence forces at this time,” the PM stated.

In London, the ISIS threat triggered heightened police force presence near major attraction points, crowded train stations and main airports (Heathrow, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Manchester).

“The safety of passengers and staff at Gatwick is the airport's absolute priority. As a result of the terrible incidents in Brussels, we have increased our security presence and patrols around the airport”, the Gatwick Airport spokesman declared.

Police is advising all passengers to travel with caution and check with their airlines on the latest travel routes modifications before departing on a business or leisure trip.
