United Airlines Excitedly Announces New Summer Routes to Prime North American Outdoor Destinations

Airlines & Airports

United is set to add eight new routes this summer to various locations in Alaska and Canada, featuring a unique nonstop flight from Washington, D.C. to Anchorage, AK.

This expansion into Canada is a direct result of the airline's robust partnership with Air Canada.

CHICAGO, Jan. 25, 2024 /PRNewswire/ -- United has unveiled plans to introduce over 100 new flights to destinations within the U.S. and Canada this summer. This expansion aims to facilitate easy access to some of North America's most scenic locations, including Anchorage and Fairbanks in Alaska, and Canadian cities such as Calgary, Vancouver, and Halifax.

The airline witnessed a surge in demand for outdoor-focused destinations during the pandemic, including national parks and mountainous regions.

Anticipating this trend to persist, United is preparing its most extensive schedule for Alaska in a decade and significantly increasing flights between the U.S. and Canada. The airline will offer nearly 70 daily flights to various national park destinations, including Bozeman, MT, Jackson Hole, WY, and Kalispell, MT.

United continues to be the top U.S. carrier to Canada this summer, with over 150 daily flights. Following an expansion in the partnership with Air Canada in 2022, United has seen a 70% growth in the Canadian market. United customers now have the added benefit of connecting to 25 additional Canadian cities via Air Canada, complemented by shared perks in their MileagePlus® and Aeroplan loyalty programs.

Patrick Quayle, United's Senior Vice President of Network Planning and Alliances, stated, "We're making it simpler than ever for our customers to access exciting North American destinations this summer." He highlighted the introduction of non-stop services and the utilization of partnerships like that with Air Canada to offer a variety of new experiences to customers.

United's new nonstop flights are available for booking on the United app and United.com, perfect for those planning summer adventures, whether hiking, stargazing, or enjoying nature.
