Unmanned Vessel Failed on the Shores of Libya
A large unmanned vessel was found on the coast of Libya, near the town Robersport, reports news website gCaptain. The boat containing massive loads of oil, engraved with the name Tamaya 1, was found by locals that declared it failed last Wednesday on a nearby beach, but the Liberian authorities found out about this accident only Friday. During this time, the ship had been vandalized and looted.
Police and agents of the Liberian immigration office inspected the ship, noting that it had no lifeboat. Authorities have opened an investigation to determine what caused the failure and what the fate of the crew was. The most predictable response is the one according to which the ship owner ran out of money to pay his crew, and they all had abandoned the ship, as a source, an authority from the national port, declared for the Liberian Daily Observer, the national newspaper.
Other speculations say that the vessel had been accosted by pirates, but their aria of activity is farther on the South West African coast, opposite from the Nigerian waters. Tamaya 1 appears to be registred in Panama, and the last reported position of the vessel was on April 22 in the waters of Gambia, shortly after leaving the port in the capital of Senegal, Daka.
