Wafaifo Resort Hoi An to Open in Vietnam
The Wafaifo Resort is a five-minute walk away from Hoi An's ancient town in central Vietnam and it will be the first project for the hospitality consultancy firm.
Wafaifo, an international hotel brand and hospitality brand, has been opened in central Vietnam. In Q1 2024, the company will open the Wafaifo Resort Hoi An with 134 key lifestyle amenities. It is part of a strategy plan that also includes a new mall and a service for managing hospitality assets.
The new company is located in Hoi An. Wafaifo is its name. It derives its name from water and faifo , which was the historical name for Hoi An.
Wafaifo plans to offer consultancy in hospitality projects across Indochina. It draws on the expertise of its cofounders, Mr Pieter van der Hoeven (Managing Director) and Mr Mikkel Krantz (Commercial Director).
Van der Hoeven will be assisting Krantz in establishing the Wafaifo brand as its flagship urban resort, Hoi An. They also plan to increase awareness about the many attractions in the area. Ms Uyen Nago, Wafaifo's Deputy Managing director, will support them. She has experience in managing resorts throughout central Vietnam.
WafaifoOptimisers will be part of the new brand. This division aims to assist hospitality clients in launching new projects in the region, and improve operational efficiencies.
Vietnam's tourism performance is, as with other Asian destinations in 2019, still below 2019 levels. However, there is a growing trend towards higher quality tourists. According to the Vietnam National Administration for Tourism (VNAT), while Vietnam's visitor numbers are still below 2019 levels, 2022 revenues in VND456.7 trillion (US$19billion) is already 70% of that 2019.
With 763,900 arrivals in Vietnam, South Koreans have been the main source of tourism for many years. The US is second at 266,000.
Wafaifo will announce more announcements in the early 2023.
