You’ve seen all Harry Potter movies and most probably read all the books written by J.K. Rowling. You know the name of every member of house Gryffindor, you can recite all spell casts that the Hogwarts team has and you know all the rules of Quidditch. In case all of these are true, them you might want to hear more about this job opportunity.

The North Yorkshire Moors Historical Railway Trust located in England is currently looking for some Harry Potter experts that have the time and the skills to volunteer and to educate the masses regarding the importance of the train and the connection between the film series and the book.

Not quite the Potterhead type of person? Well, let us explain this to you then. Goathland Station is one of the stops along the railway that so many people have heard of. Also, it appeared in the films under the name of “Hogsmeade Station” and is part of the Hogwarts Express route.

The job description posted by the trust says that the future volunteer has to “be available on a weekday/s to accommodate for school visits”. Additionally, they will also be responsible for leading “small to medium-sized groups of Muggles and Wizarding enthusiasts on tours around Goathland station, delivering knowledge on the history of the railway and the station’s association with the Harry Potter franchise.”

The volunteer won’t be alone in this, though, but they will work closely with the education officer in order to “create an engaging Wizarding itinerary with the aim of group visits and ensuring that they have an enjoyable visit that fulfills any required learning objectives.” Also, the two will collaborate in order to create “any learning assets to accompany the themed activities, with any relevant support from the Marketing department”, thus becoming the image of the station’s association in the public. The volunteer will have to be present at any publicity or media activities “with the support of the Marketing department and Ministry of Magic.”
