Wizz Air Expands Belgrade Base with Fourth Aircraft and New Routes

Wizz Air is expanding its operations in Serbia, further solidifying its position as the leading low-cost carrier in the country. Starting in summer 2025, the airline will introduce two new routes from Belgrade and add a fourth Airbus A321neo aircraft to its fleet. This growth reflects the airline's commitment to the Serbian market, bringing more than 600,000 seats to the region for the upcoming summer season.

New Routes and Increased Frequencies

  • Belgrade – Friedrichshafen: Flights on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, starting June 2, 2025. Fares from EUR 29.99
  • Belgrade – Alicante: Flights on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, starting June 3, 2025. Fares from EUR 35.99

Additionally, Wizz Air is increasing the frequency of seven existing routes from Belgrade:

  • Belgrade – Basel: Increased from 5 to 7 weekly flights, starting May 23, 2025
  • Belgrade – Dortmund: Increased from 4 to 7 weekly flights
  • Belgrade – Milan Bergamo: Increased from 4 to 7 weekly flights
  • Belgrade – Rome Fiumicino: Increased from 3 to 4 weekly flights
  • Belgrade – Malta: Increased from 3 to 4 weekly flights
  • Belgrade – Nice: Increased from 2 to 3 weekly flights
  • Belgrade – Larnaca: Increased from 3 to 4 weekly flights, starting April 1, 2025

Growth in the Serbian Market

Roland Tischner, Managing Director of Wizz Air Hungary, shared:
“We are proud to lead the Serbian market with almost 70% market share among low-cost airlines. This expansion will increase our Belgrade capacity by nearly 24% compared to last summer, offering more than 119,000 additional seats. This growth not only strengthens our network but also supports the local economy and tourism sector.”

Since launching in Belgrade in 2007, Wizz Air has become a preferred airline for affordable travel. In 2024, Wizz Air operated over 9,400 flights from Belgrade and carried more than 1.5 million passengers. The airline continues to maintain one of the youngest and most fuel-efficient fleets in the industry, supporting its commitment to sustainability.
