Air Canada Expands Cargo Operations with New Chicago Route

Air Canada Cargo will begin thrice-weekly freight services between Toronto and Chicago starting June 2, enhancing its North American distribution capabilities.

Air Canada and Air Canada Cargo have announced the launch of a new freight service to Chicago, set to commence on June 2, 2024. This new route, serviced by a Boeing 767 freighter, will operate three times a week, linking Air Canada Cargo’s primary hub in Toronto with its dedicated warehouse operation in Chicago.

The new service will strengthen Air Canada Cargo’s position in North America, capitalizing on both the extensive passenger network of Air Canada and its expansive trucking network in Chicago. "This addition underscores our commitment to meeting market demands and enhancing service for our customers," stated Jon Turner, Vice President of Cargo at Air Canada. "The inclusion of Chicago in our network not only extends our reach but also enhances our competitive advantage as a global combination carrier."

The flight schedule is as follows:

• Flight AC 7219 will depart from Toronto (YYZ) at 19:00 every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, arriving in Chicago (ORD) at 19:50.
• The return flight, AC 7218, will leave Chicago at 21:25 on the same days, reaching Toronto at 00:05.

This strategic expansion is designed to provide consistent cargo capacity and improve service reliability to Air Canada Cargo’s valued clients. By enhancing its freight services, Air Canada Cargo aims to respond more effectively to the needs of the market, especially in facilitating the swift movement of goods across North America.
