Aeromexico Adds Boston to Its List of US Destinations

Aeromexico has added Boston to its list of US destinations with a direct service from Mexico City. This is the airlines's 16th destination in the US.
The airline started serving its new route on June 1st 2015, with 6 flights weekly, except Tuesday.
Anko van der Werff, Aeromexico Chief Revenue Officer, said: "We are thrilled to add our 16th destination in the United States, a feat that comes in support of the airline's commitment to enhance our presence in one of our most important international markets. Boston is a very important city for Mexico and Latin America because of the city's economy and academic offerings that attract many students Latin America every year."
Massport CEO Thomas P. Glynn declared: "We are very happy to be adding Mexico City as an international destination in our roster. Now one can fly to Boston nonstop from Mexico City."
"Mexico City dates back to the 1300s and now it is one of the most populous cities in the world. I think the two cities have several things in common. Just like Boston, Mexico City is a place that celebrates its significant history, it is a cultural and political hub for the country, it has many universities and it is a city that is proud to celebrate its diversity."
The new destination is served by Boeing 737-700 aircraft with 124 seats, 12 of them being in the Aeromexico Clase Premier Business Class cabin. Flight 699 takes off from Boston at 4:20 pm and lands in Mexico City at 8:42 p.m. Flight 698 departs Mexico City at 9 a.m. and touches down in Boston at 3:05 p.m.
The estimated economic impact to the region of a Boston-Mexico City route is $45M annually.
