After Extensive Renovations, RIU Caribe Will Host RIU Party Events In Cancun

Destinations & Tourism

Completely renovated, the RIU Caribe is now one of RIU Hotels & Resorts' premier properties.

The hotel, which RIU bought in 2003 and renovated in 2013, is another example of the company's dedication to excellence in Mexico.

The new RIU Caribe is the first in Cancun to feature RIU Party occasions, which are free and available to all RIU guests. The hotel has also undergone some stunning renovations in the lobby, suites, restaurants, and shared spaces.

After the renovation, the lobby and reception area of the hotel will be flooded with natural light and have a much more open, airy feel. An expansive and pleasant reception space, as well as modern furnishings, beautiful design, and the wildly popular lobby bar "Frida" all contribute to the area's increased functionality and aesthetic appeal.

All of the rooms are recently refurbished. The 506 rooms at RIU are decorated in soothing and sophisticated tones and have all the essentials for a relaxing vacation. Swim-out rooms with private pools are also available and have quickly become a staple at RIU resorts. Five of these rooms are available at the hotel for those who want a more private experience.

However, the introduction of RIU Pool Party events to Cancun with the restoration of the RIU Caribe is undeniably one of the most notable improvements. RIU's extravaganza concept, which began in Los Cabos in 2018, have taken five years to make it to Cancun. The RIU Caribe has built a special party venue complete with its own pool where they host four themed parties every week: the White Party, the Jungle Party, the Neon Party, and the Pink Party.

These RIU Pool Parties are for adults only, and a new addition is the RIU Party rooms, where the celebrations may continue indoors. Each of these 74 rooms has been carefully designed to complement its surroundings and is fully equipped for visitors who wish to make the most of their time at the exclusive RIU Party events.

The hotel's food selections continue to be one of its strongest selling points. To provide a more refined dining experience for customers, all of the eateries have undergone extensive renovations. Along with the renowned Steakhouse, the hotel also has a Mexican restaurant called "Margarita," an Asian restaurant called "Shangri-la," a gourmet restaurant called "Kulinarium," a grill-style food station called "Pepe's Food" by the pool, and a world-class buffet restaurant.

The hotel has four bars in total, including a public bar, a theatre lounge bar, a 24-hour sports bar, and an adults-only poolside bar.

There used to be only one massive pool at the hotel, but now there are also four. One of them has a swim-up bar, and there are pools designed specifically for kids as well as ones that are fun for the whole family. The leisure staff will also be responsible for the new RIU Fit sports section, which will have a completely set up gym in addition to the extensive water sport offerings at the property's shoreline.

The Riu Caribe's renovation is part of RIU's larger effort to update and improve all 22 of its Mexican properties. The hotel chain has been in operation for almost 25 years in Mexico, and during that time it has renovated the great majority of its hotels. The Riu Palace Pacifico on the Rivera Nayarit is up next, with renovations beginning in August and wrapping up in the beginning of this year’s December.
