Air France Opens Applications for Its Cadet Pilot Program

Society

Air France has launched its recruitment campaign for the Cadet Program, with applications open from June 15 to July 31, 2026, for candidates seeking to join the airline's fully funded pilot training course.

The program offers a 24-month training course delivered through partner flight schools selected by Air France. Graduates join Air France or Transavia as First Officers, flying Airbus A220 or A320 aircraft at Air France, or Boeing 737 and A320neo aircraft at Transavia.

Since being relaunched in 2018, the program has placed more than 300 young pilots into cockpits at Air France and Transavia. It is open to a broad range of candidates, including recent graduates, science students, and career changers, and has also contributed to increasing female representation in the cockpit, with women making up 25 percent of selected cadets in 2025.

In partnership with the French Aeronautical Federation (FFA) and the French Gliding Federation (FFVP), Air France will host a webinar on the Cadet Program on June 23 at 18:00, covering the selection process and training structure. Pilots who came through the program, including Laure-Anne, Chafik Kheffafa, and Audorisca Roger-Rollé, have also shared their experiences of the training.
