Corendon Airlines Introduces Adult-Only Zones on November Amsterdam-Curaçao Flights

Airlines & Airports

Next month, Corendon Airlines, a Turkish-owned carrier, will introduce an innovative 'Adults-Exclusive' section on Amsterdam-Curaçao flights.

This marks Corendon as the inaugural European airline to offer this distinct service, specifically catering to passengers aged 16 and above, as noted by SchengenVisaInfo.com.

As described by Euronews, these demarcated areas within the aircraft will encompass a total of 93 seats exclusively reserved for adult travelers. Passengers keen to secure a spot in the 'Adults-Exclusive' zone can do so for a nominal fee of €45 for one-way travel.

Moreover, within this exclusive enclave, XL seats will be available at a rate of €100 for one-way journeys, catering to those seeking additional room.

Corendon founder Atilay Uslu emphasized the airline's commitment to meeting the diverse needs of passengers and expressed immense pride in Corendon Airlines being the inaugural Dutch carrier to introduce an "Adults-Only" zone. He remarked that travelers can now relish their flight without concerns about potential disturbances from children.

Uslu further highlighted that this approach benefits parents traveling with children, as they can feel less anxious about disturbing fellow passengers within the adult-only sections.

Euronews pointed out that Corendon already offers adult-only accommodations in various destinations, including Curaçao, Bodrum, and Ibiza, to appeal to travelers seeking child-free vacation settings.

Although Corendon Airlines leads the way in Europe by introducing adult-only sections, some international companies have previously provided analogous services. For instance, AirAsia X features a 'Quiet Zone' on its long-haul A330 flights, exclusively for passengers aged 12 and above.

Additionally, Scoot, a Singapore-based low-cost carrier, provides 'ScootinSilence' cabins on its 787 flights, restricted to travelers aged over 12.

In May of this year, Corendon was reportedly exploring the possibility of leasing an Airbus A350 to facilitate flights between Amsterdam and the Caribbean island of Curaçao. While Corendon Airlines has not officially verified or commented on these plans, the potential expansion of its fleet with an Airbus A350 remains a subject of ongoing interest and speculation.

According to a survey conducted by Redfield and Wilton Strategies on behalf of Newsweek, involving 1,500 American adults, approximately 60 percent of respondents endorsed the idea of adults-only areas on planes and trains. In contrast, 27 percent expressed disagreement with the concept, while 14 percent remained undecided about their stance on the matter.
